My Funny Valentine

A.A. Bondy sings pure truth. His cover of Frank Sinatra's 'My Funny Valentine' sunk into me deep when I saw him at the echo.

Looking forward

"The future and the past are now culturally
intertwined on so many levels that a
modern-day futurism might not turn out
quite the way we expect it."

Stan Brakhage lectures

I have acquired 76 pages of original Stan Brakhage
lectures circa 1974 that dissects and discusses the basic
elements of film as a substratal form of expression . I
have only begun reading these lectures, but with the little I
know about Brakhage I believe it will be an interesting read
regarding form, substance, colour, and perception. An ungilded
view of inanimate objects, that coalesce the "out" with the
"in". Basically, to absorb what we see outside of our own reality.
It is when this phenomenon occurs, that enlightenment sparks.

"the search for an art . . . .
either in the making or the appreciation . . . . is the most terrifying adventure imaginable..." -Brakhage.

antichris†

Antichrist delves into sexual malevolence as has never been shown on film before, which results from a tragic accident. The immense sorrow that hangs over the soul of a mother after losing her child to a fall cripples her psyche and exposes the woman for what she is. Pain has stripped down this woman's walls of human decency while rotting the core of her belief in hope or any attainable jubilation.
Her husband, a psychiatrist is left to put together a broken woman who questions his love for their deceased son. His dedication to treating and curing his psychologically disturbed wife, lead the couple to the woods to confront the fear that his wife describes as 'satan's church.' The cinematography is breathtakingly beautiful despite the grim and amount of evil felt throughout the film.

A strong caution: Images of self mutilation and subconsciously grave images that will instill themselves in you.

Beat Club

The Who performs on Beat Club in Berlin. Beat Club was
a German television program which showcased many great,
unknown, and quietly kept secrets of rock and roll. It was this
performance of The Who that made me want to scour and search
these hard to find dvds.
