it has been almost three years since i first heard the work of Peter Rehberg and Stephen O'malley as a collective for the composition of the french production kindertotenlieder curated by Gisèle Vienne. With themes of very grave and sub-conscious subject matter, it is no wonder why these two were called upon to create a haunting apparation that engulfs the production. Having never seen the production (I do not live in France), I have heard most of the work the two have done together, and now with two new productions in Brest, it makes me wish I could be there to witness these experimental performances in person.
